Mark 6:1-30 – Persecution
Mar 1, 2026 • Michael Brown
After the miracles of Mark 5, Mark 6 confronts us with a harder truth: following Jesus comes at a cost. Rejected in His hometown and foreshadowed by the martyrdom of John the Baptist, we’re reminded that faithfulness doesn’t guarantee comfort, approval, or even safety.
This message explores what it means to follow Christ in a hostile world, without compromise, without fear, and without hatred. Will we value being liked more than being faithful? Or will we count everything as loss compared to the surpassing worth of knowing Jesus?
The cost is real. But so is the reward. Watch and be strengthened to stand firm, love boldly, and treasure Christ above all.
