The Gospel

God loves us.

The Bible tells us that "God is love" (1 John 4:16). It assures us that "Neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord" (Romans 8:38-39). This is really good news!

We have a problem.

Many people assume God isn't interested in them because they don't experience him every day. The Bible explains that this is because we have a problem that he wants to solve for us. "Surely the arm of the Lord is not too short to save, nor his ear too dull to hear. But your iniquities have separated you from your God" (Isaiah 59:1-2). "For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God" (Romans 3:23).

Jesus died for us.

The good news of the Gospel is that God has done what it takes to solve our problem for us. He sent his Son Jesus into the world to save us personally. The Bible reassures us that "God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life" (John 3:16). It goes on to explain how this is possible. "God made him who had no sin to be sin for us, so that in him we might become the righteousness of God" (2 Corinthians 5:21).

We need to choose.

What Jesus has done for us personally demands a response. God sets a choice before us - a choice that nobody else can make for us. God asks us to believe that Jesus is his Son and our Saviour. "The wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord" (Romans 6:23).

If you would like to choose yes today, ask a Christian friend to help you or email us on office@everyday.org.uk.

Alternatively, you can speak a prayer out loud to God. "If you declare with your mouth, 'Jesus is Lord,' and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved" (Romans 10:9).
